Estia Health Hope Valley recently had the privilege of welcoming an extraordinary resident, Dr. Ahmed, a highly respected Paediatric Urologist Surgeon.
Over his remarkable career, Dr. Ahmed has touched countless lives, helping children across the globe, including successfully separating three sets of conjoined twins. He has proudly published an autobiography, documenting his incredible journey and sharing insights from his groundbreaking surgeries, travels, and cherished moments with his loved ones.
When welcoming Dr. Ahmed to our home, he met our resident doctor, Dr. LePoidevin. As they met, Dr. LePoidevin extended his hand with a warm smile and asked, "What is your surname?".
Dr. Ahmed responded, and to everyone's amazement, Dr. LePoidevin, with a smile of recognition, replied, "I know you. I was a student of yours in 1979." The room filled with disbelief at this remarkable twist of fate. Dr. Ahmed, ever gracious, grinned and said, “Well, now the tables have turned. It’s your turn to look after me.” As the moment sank in, the family and our team had tears in their eyes, while the doctor's wife and daughters said, “This was meant to be.”
To commemorate this unexpected reunion, we captured a photo of the two doctors together. Dr. Ahmed proudly keeps this photo in his room as a fond keepsake. This cheerful encounter has brought a smile to our home, reminding us of the wonderful surprises life can offer.
