Kate’s inspiring journey to leadership at Estia Health

Kate’s career in aged care has been driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives of the elderly.

Her story began in 2016 in a role close to the heart of aged care, working as an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) at Estia Health Mount Coolum. This foundation, rooted in direct care and resident wellbeing, has been influential in shaping her understanding and passion for aged care. 

As an AIN, Kate gained valuable hands-on experience in ensuring the well-being of our residents across all aspects of daily living. She was driven by so much more than just doing her job; she was passionate about making a difference in the lives of the elderly. 

In 2021, Kate was given the opportunity to step into the role of Client Services Officer, where she dedicated herself to ensuring every resident and their loved ones felt supported from the very beginning. She also focused on supporting the end-to-end admissions process and streamlining administrative procedures. 

Driven by her curiosity to explore different areas of care, Kate stepped into a new role as Employee Relations Manager at a large home care provider. This role pushed her leadership abilities to new heights, managing a large team across Queensland.

In a full-circle moment, Kate returned to Estia Health in 2023 as an Office Manager at Pacific Paradise, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective. Her leadership was marked by a genuine care for everyone around her, something that has always been at the heart of her work. Not only did she enhance the homes operational efficiency, but also focused on improving the overall resident experience. 

From direct care to leadership, each role prepared her for the next step in her journey. In August 2024, Kate proudly stepped into her new role as Client Relations Manager. “What I’m most excited about is the opportunity to directly impact the lives of our residents and their families in a meaningful way,” Kate says. “I want to leverage my experience to build strong relationships with residents and their families while ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.” 

Kate’s growth at Estia Health has been supported by a culture that values collaboration, learning, and personal development. “The supportive and collaborative environment here has allowed me to take on new challenges, learn from experienced colleagues, and grow both personally and professionally,” she reflects. “Estia Health’s commitment to excellence in care and its focus on continuous improvement has encouraged me to push boundaries, innovate, and strive for the best outcomes for our residents.” 

As Kate continues her journey at Estia Health, her passion for making a positive impact remains undiminished. “Every step I have taken has been with the goal of improving the quality of care we provide. Seeing the tangible results of these efforts, whether it’s a resident feeling more at home or a family member expressing gratitude for the care their loved one receives, is incredibly rewarding.” 

Looking ahead, Kate is enthusiastic about the future. She’s ready to face new challenges, enhance resident experiences, and contribute to Estia Health’s ongoing success. Her story is not just about career progression, it’s about a commitment to improving the lives of those around her.
