20 Years of Dedication and Compassion: Estia Health Dalmeny Marks Milestone Anniversary
On Monday 15 April 2024, Estia Health Dalmeny proudly celebrated its 20th anniversary. For two decades, the home has provided quality care and support to older people and their families of the local community and has cared for thousands of residents since opening in 2004.
The home’s Manager Miriam Dayhew said “At Estia Health Dalmeny, we exist to enrich and celebrate life together. Our home reflects the home’s residents and the people that support and work with us. Our 20th anniversary is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our employees, volunteers, and supporters, who have contributed to Estia Health Dalmeny over the years.”
To celebrate the occasion, Estia Health Dalmeny hosted a special anniversary morning tea at the home. The event featured speeches from Estia Health’s CEO Sean Bilton and Eurobodalla Shire Council’s Mayor Mathew Hatcher, with special recognition for a number of dedicated employees who have worked at the home since it opened.
It was a wonderful opportunity for all attendees to reminisce and celebrate the achievements of the past two decades.
Celebrating a community legacy
Estia Health’s Chief Executive Officer, Sean Bilton said “Our Dalmeny home has a special place in the local community. As a national provider of aged care services, we are extremely proud to support our local team to provide care and support for our residents and their families at a time of need."
Originally built and operated by local couple Janice & Mark Hawker, the home was officially opened by The Hon Julie Bishop, Minister for Ageing in 2004. From 2005 the home was operated by Cook Care before Estia Health acquired the home in 2014.
The more than 100 residents who call Estia Health Dalmeny home enjoy ocean views, accessible gardens and a communal alfresco dining area. Regular activities are tailored to residents’ preferences and include regular bus trips, a walking and gardening group.
